The Caroline County Foundation for Education, Recreation & Wellness is organized and operated exclusively for charitable, literary, educational and cultural purposes that benefit the wellbeing of residents of Caroline County, Virginia. It is organized and authorized to collect and disburse financial and human resources solely for that purpose. Grants are made to 501-c-3 organizations and other groups which receive a substantial part of its support from a governmental unit or contributions from the public. In keeping with its purpose the foundation will receive applications annually requesting an allocation of funds on April 1st and on October 1st.

To receive major donations to enhance education, recreation and wellness needs in Caroline County.
Upon receipt of applications, due by April 1 and October 1, to review and personally discuss with each applicant their request for funds, the Foundation Board will then vote and disburse finds as deemed appropriate in accordance with our Charter and Bylaws.

The Caroline County Foundation was incorporated by the Virginia State Corporation Commission on September 3, 2013. Initially operating under the charitable umbrella of the Rappahannock Community Foundation, the Caroline County Foundation received its independent IRS 501(c)3 designation on September 21, 2017.

Initially operating under the charitable umbrella of the Rappahannock Community Foundation, the Caroline County Foundation received its independent IRS 501(c)3 designation on September 21, 2017.
As set forth in its Bylaws, the Caroline County Foundation “promotes healthy lifestyles by helping to support quality education, recreation activities and wellness opportunities for all of Caroline County…through implementation of their charitable aspirations by awarding community grants.” The Foundation convenes to consider and award grants every April and October.
